Join us on St. Patrick's Day (Saturday, March 17th) for a full day of fun and shopping at our local boutiques. Florence is gaining national recognition as a shopping mecca of the South, so come and see what it's all about!
Shopping…a team sport? Think “golf tournament” and you are half way there. Your foursome will gather with other teams for an 8:30 "Tee Time" which includes breakfast. Players will be given custom Shopping Tournament bags and all the 411 you’ll need to shop ‘til you drop! Teams are encouraged to dress alike…in costume, customized t-shirts or hats, etc. You’ll need to come up with a team name that best describes your personalities or favored activities, such as “Check-out Chicks,” “Divot Divas,” or “Bama Babes”…you get the idea! Following breakfast your team will be assigned a Shotgun start – your first store on the tour. After that you choose the holes (shops) you play, at the pace you want to play! Off you go to spend a day with your best buddies shopping at the greatest boutiques and taking in lunch at participating restaurants before we gather for dinner and awards at the "19th Hole" party.
Participating stores of English Village and historic downtown Florence make up the tour. Tournament stores will offer discounts that are exclusive to tournament shoppers. The stores are pulling out all the stops for shoppers – you will not want to miss this special day devoted to you – the Tournament Shopper! Black Friday move over...Green Saturday just blew you away! At the end of the day the fun is just getting started. Awards like Big Spenders, Spirit Shoppers, Best Dressed (costume), Greatest Distance from the Hole (team that traveled farthest), and many more will be awarded over dinner! Your entry fee, $200 per team, will more than pay for itself when you have breakfast, exclusive discounts, and dinner all on us!

FCSEF brings unique and fun events to The Shoals, Alabama in order to raise funds to Build A Better Classroom for Florence City Schools. Our foundation garners support from local businesses, families and individuals; as a result our schools are at the forefront of our community consciousness. The Anderson Classroom Excellence Awards, for example, have gifted more than $55,000 to our classrooms through our grants program. Our foundation has awarded more than $124,000 in classroom grants since 2005. The Florence City Schools Education Foundation - Building a Better Classroom.
